A Potential Liquidity Option for Previously Filed Claims
The $2.8 billion Blue Cross Blue Shield Provider Settlement relates to claims involving healthcare providers and facilities that provided services, equipment or supplies to patients covered by participating Blue Plans during the settlement class period of July 24, 2008 through October 4, 2024.
The settlement became effective on September 19, 2025. The claim-submission deadline was July 29, 2025, and existing claims remain subject to review and determination by the Settlement Administrator.
SLFAQ does not submit new settlement claims or determine settlement eligibility. We evaluate potential purchase opportunities involving certain claims that were previously filed with the Settlement Administrator.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance mean our organization qualifies?
Not necessarily. Settlement eligibility depends on the settlement terms and the claim submitted to the Settlement Administrator. SLFAQ is evaluating certain previously filed claims for potential purchase.
Can SLFAQ submit a new claim for our organization?
No. The official claim-submission deadline was July 29, 2025. SLFAQ’s liquidity program is intended for certain claims that were previously submitted.
What if we received a deficiency notice?
You may still request an initial review. Whether SLFAQ can proceed will depend on the deficiency, claim status, supporting documentation and other relevant factors. You should also follow the Settlement Administrator’s instructions for responding to the notice.
How will SLFAQ evaluate our claim?
The evaluation may consider claim status, ownership, documentation, transferability, estimated recovery, timing and risk. No valuation, offer or purchase is guaranteed.
Are we required to sell after requesting a review?
No. Requesting a review does not obligate your organization to accept an offer or complete a transaction.
